Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 September 2026
Probes Pakistan (“we”, “us”, “our”, “the Site”) respects your privacy. This Policy explains what information we may collect on probespakistan.com and www.probespakistan.com and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have. This Policy is published at https://www.probespakistan.com/privacy.
1. Who we are
Probes Pakistan is a bilingual (English / Urdu) digital news platform with the tagline Look Deeper. We publish news, analysis, and related content for readers in Pakistan and abroad.
2. Information we may collect
- Technical data (automatic): IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, referrer URL, and approximate timestamps — used for security, performance, and basic analytics.
- Cookies and local storage: language preference (EN/UR), theme, and session settings so the Site works correctly.
- Contact messages: if you email, call, WhatsApp, or message us on social accounts, we receive the content and contact details you send.
- Accounts / portals (if enabled): name, email, and authentication data for admin, editor, or correspondent logins.
- Comments or subscriptions (if enabled): information you voluntarily submit.
You can usually read the news without creating an account. We do not knowingly ask children for personal data.
3. How we use information
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site
- Remember language, layout, and basic preferences
- Respond to your messages
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
- Comply with law and enforce our terms
- Produce aggregated, non-identifying statistics where we have a legitimate interest or your consent
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use essential and functional cookies / local storage (for example language and theme). You can control cookies in your browser; blocking some may affect parts of the Site. If we add extra analytics tools later, we will update this page.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
We may use Google AdSense (and related Google advertising products) to show ads on the Site. As required by Google:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to your website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- How Google uses data on partner sites: How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps.
- Even when ads are not personalized, Google may still use cookies for frequency capping, aggregated ad reporting, and to combat fraud and abuse.
As a result of ad serving, third parties may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or IP addresses to collect information. Where required by law (for example visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland), we use Google Privacy & messaging / Consent Management Platform (CMP) so you can Consent, Manage options, or Do not consent to ads personalization and related cookies. You can reopen those choices later via Privacy choices in the site footer.
6. Third parties and service providers
We may use trusted providers to run the Site, including:
- Hosting and server infrastructure
- DNS / CDN and security layers (for example Cloudflare)
- Google AdSense / Google advertising networks (see section 5)
- Social platforms when you use our follow links or share buttons (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, and similar) — their own policies apply
- Cloud / AI tools used in our editorial workflow to help prepare news content (not to sell reader profiles for advertising)
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Where data is stored and how long we keep it
Servers and processors may be located in Pakistan or other countries. We keep information only as long as needed to run the Site, meet security and legal duties, or resolve disputes, then delete or anonymise it where practical.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures. No online system is perfectly secure. Use strong passwords and do not share account credentials.
9. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to:
- Access personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion (where the law allows)
- Object to or restrict certain processing (where applicable)
Contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. Legal exceptions may apply.
10. Children
The Site is for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us data, contact us so we can delete it.
11. External links
Articles may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please read their policies.
