Prince George Makes William and Kate Proud As He Clears First Eton Challenge

Prince William and Princess Catherine were all smiles as they dropped off their eldest son and future monarch at Eton earlier this week, kicking off a new chapter for the Wales family. It is believed that while Kate had been emotional as a mother watching her son grow up, she also trusts that her son is capable of handling the pressure that awaits him.

In the months leading up to George's Eton announcement, there was a lot of speculation surrounding where the young royal would be boarding. According to royal editor Emily Nash, the Princess of Wales would not have allowed her son into Eton if she didn't think George could excel. "I think what William and Catherine have done is they've chosen the school that is right for him, and they'll choose the school that's right for each individual child," Emily said, explaining how every child is different.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are aware of their children's personalities and capabilities much better than anyone else, and they have done enough research on what schools have to offer. Emily pointed out that this "really does show that George is a smart kid" as Eton no longer lets you in based on who you are or who your parents are. "I genuinely don't think that in this day and age, they could put someone into Eton and get them through in the way that may have happened in previous generations." Moreover, Kate is well-versed in children's education and she would not approve unless she knew George could keep up.

Getting into Eton was the first challenge; it remains to be seen how the future King fares in his new journey.
