Pakistan Russia Oman Begin Joint Military Exercises

The 9th edition of Pakistan-Russia Joint Exercise Druzhba-IX and the 2nd edition of Pakistan-Oman Joint Exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II (Mountain Lynx-II) commenced on Tuesday at Cherat and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, respectively. The two-week-long exercises bring together contingents from the Pakistan Army and their counterparts from the Russian Army and Royal Army of Oman to share operational experience, refine counter-terrorism drills and procedures, and enhance interoperability among the participating forces.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercises are aimed at providing the participating forces with an opportunity to benefit from each other's operational experience and expertise. Through joint training sessions and the exchange of best practices, the forces will hone their combat skills and tactical expertise while improving their ability to operate effectively in coordinated environments. The exercises further reflect Pakistan's ongoing defence engagement with Russia and Oman and their shared interest in enhancing military cooperation through regular joint training and professional exchanges.
