Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's daughter Mahnoor Safdar's nikah was solemnised on Saturday, marking a special family occasion at the Sharif family's Jati Umra residence. The ceremony was attended by close relatives and invited family guests, keeping the occasion centred around the family. Mahnoor's nikah was arranged with Azan Jabbar, the son of businessman Jabbar Khalid.
Three-time former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz were among the attendees of the ceremony. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, and other notable personalities also attended the wedding ceremony at Jati Umra.
The wedding comes only days after Mahnoor completed her graduation in anthropology from SOAS University of London. Security and logistical arrangements around the Jati Umra estate were kept well-managed to facilitate the arrival of high-profile political figures and family guests.
Well-wishers and party leaders from across the province extended their heartfelt felicitations to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the Sharif family on the auspicious occasion. Special prayers were offered for the couple's prosperous future and marital harmony as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
