The Ocean Way Festival has been canceled just two weeks before its scheduled debut in Los Angeles. The major music festival was set to take place on September 26 and 27 at Santa Monica Beach, featuring high-profile acts including Olivia Dean, Jack White, Khruangbin, and The Killers.

Organizers had anticipated a daily turnout of approximately 45,000 attendees, but ticket holders must now wait until next year. The cancellation comes in the wake of severe beach erosion caused by heavy storm activity and high waves. Additionally, runoff from a nearby storm drain compromised another section of the venue, leaving insufficient safe space for an event of this scale.

City authorities inspected the site and determined it could not safely accommodate the crowds and operational staff. Ticket purchasers will receive full refunds, which are expected to be processed within five to seven business days.

The sudden announcement has drawn widespread disappointment from fans who had already finalized travel and attendance plans. While online speculation briefly questioned whether sluggish ticket sales played a role, officials have firmly maintained that storm-induced environmental damage is the sole reason for management's difficult decision.
